Woman crush wednesday. This lady has brains, looks, and can kick butt. She also looks good in leather. The legendary trinity from the Matrix trilogy. Played by Carrie Ann Moss, the character of trinity is the perfect mix of being feminine and masculine without having to compromise one for the other. When we first meet her she is just about to be arrested by two police officers who she dispatches with ease. The next time we are formally introduced to her is when she confronts Thomas Anderson in the club, in which he relays to her most famous exploit which was cracking a database so secure it made her famous amongst other hackers. Anderson also states with that claim he thought she was a man, with a statement like that it just goes to remind us she is not just not any ordinary woman.
Skills that Trinity possesses appear are she is amazing at using computers ( which has already been mentioned ), at operating vehicles such as cars, helicopters and motorbikes in the matrix and the hovercraft in the real world. She is also a bit handy in the martial arts department with her trademark move the Double Eagle kick which is performed in each of the three films ( and also ended up being parodied in numerous films ).
Her love, determination and loyalty are are her main qualities which cement my choice for making her my woman crush wednesday. Her loyalty to her captain and leader morpheus can be seen as she decides to go and rescue him from Agent Smith after he is captured. This respect is something that morpheus obviously has for her back as she is his first officer on the nebuchadnezzar. Her love for Neo is as strong as her determination and belief in him. Its with her command to get up ( which she repeats three time ) after he has been shot and killed by agent smith that is he is able to rise from the dead. In the matrix reloaded when trinity realises that Neo is entering a trap with the whole building wired to blow up with explosives and that she only has minutes to save him, her reply is “in 5 minutes ill tear that whole goddamn building down.” She is the ultimate ride or die chick.
So with everything that i have just written i’m going to go and practice my double eagle kick. Trinity thank you for being my woman crush wednesday.
